In a video on her TikTok page, Amy explained: "Okay boy mums, listen up.

"I've got the best school shoes ever - this is not an ad this is a genuine recommendation.

"He has had these for the last few years.

"They're the only school shoes we've found that can last him the whole year, unless his feet grow obviously, and the front does not get wrecked."

The adidas pair are called Tensaur, and while they're priced at £27.99, she got them for £23 a pop in Sports Direct.

"They are technically trainers I would say but definitely passable as school shoes," Amy said.

"They're leather, and they are virtually indestructible."

And when it came to getting some shoes for her youngest son, who's starting school this September, Amy had no qualms about which to buy.

"We got him the same pair because we call him 'Wreck It Ron' for a reason," she laughed.

"But honestly I cannot recommend these highly enough.

I've found the perfect shoes for my daughter to wear when she starts school - they're cheap, durable and super comfy too

"Like I say not an ad, but highly highly recommended!"

"If you haven't bought your school shoes yet, this is your sign @adidas," Amy captioned the video.

"Shhhh! don't tell people," one person commented.

"My kids are on their 3rd year of having these!"

"Best school shoes that last," another added.

"My son plays football at school and they last the year."

EXTRA HELP WITH SCHOOL UNIFORM COSTS

IF you can't get targeted help from your council, you might have some other options available to you.

In some areas, you can talk directly to your school, which might be able to offer you clothing.

Or, you might be able to get cheap garments from low-budget shops or charity stores.

Some charities offer help to families in need too.

But bear in mind charities often have a limited amount of money to give and usually have specific criteria which must be met in order to get a grant.

Charity Turn2Us has a free grants search tool on its website which you can use to find out what help is available to you.

Meanwhile, you can always try approaching your nearest Citizens' Advice branch.

If you don't know where your nearest Citizens' Advice branch is, you can find out by visiting www.citizensadvice.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/nearby/.

If you're not eligible for a school uniform grant you might be able to get help through the Household Support Fund.

"I got these for sept feels so nice to not spend £50 on Clarks," a third wrote.

"My son has these and for the past few years, definitely last all year and pass as school shoes," someone else said.

"Ohhhh they are AMAZING!" another wrote.

"My autistic son wears them and they last. Otherwise was a new pair every month."
