A BRIDE who found out her fiancé had cheated on her went ahead with the £35,000 wedding — without a groom.
Lindsay Slater celebrated her freedom with around 70 family and friends.
They enjoyed a three-course meal and had speeches and photos — with Lindsay in her £1,200 wedding gown — before a DJ party.
The solicitor, 31, even went on honeymoon to Crete with a pal.
Suspicious Lindsay found out her partner of 12 years had been unfaithful less than a week before they were due to wed in Mansfield, Notts, this month.
She said: “I was distraught — it was too late to go back on the wedding plans.

“Everyone was shocked, all that money had been spent.
“But there was a big part of me who thought, ‘I’m free’.
“I was surrounded by so much love, it really reminded me that I didn’t need him.
“I chose to spend the day with friends and family rather than sit at home crying.”
