MEGA SAVINGS

Nintendo gamers can grab dozens of classic games for as little as £1 each

The entire Mega Man series is on sale on the Nintendo eShop

THE NINTENDO Switch is home to thousands of games, from brand-new triple-A games to decades-old retro games and more indies than you can count.

Nintendo’s first-party games are all excellent, but third-party developers like Square Enix, Capcom, and even Xbox have put in the work to build out the hybrid console’s library of games.

There are over 36 retro Mega Man games on the eShop, and all of them are on sale

Every now and then, Nintendo hosts sales on the Nintendo Switch eShop, often with huge savings on these games, and right now there’s a host of great games from Capcom on sale on the Switch.

In this case, the big sale is on games in the Mega Man franchise, and there are plenty of games available at absolutely unbelievable prices.

The most recent game in the series, Mega Man 11, can be picked up for just £8.24, the lowest price it’s ever been on the Switch.

That’s not even the best deal in the sale, which instead comes in the form of Legacy Collections.

More gaming deals

The Mega Man Legacy Collections are collections of classic Mega Man games across a number of its subseries, all modernised and updated for new platforms.

There are four Legacy Collections in total, including the original classic series that started on the NES, the Mega Man X series, the Mega Man Zero series, and the Mega Man Battle Network series.

Between all four collections, 36 classic Mega Man games are on offer, ranging from the series’ origin on the NES all the way up to the Mega Man ZX games on the Nintendo DS.

All of these games are on sale on the Nintendo eShop, although it’s worth noting that the Mega Man and Mega Man X collections are split into two.

Here are the games on sale:

  • Mega Man 11 – £8.24
  • Mega Man Legacy Collection – £6.35
  • Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 – £6.35
  • Mega Man X Legacy Collection – £6.39
  • Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 – £6.39
  • Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection – £8.24
  • Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection – £24.99

In terms of pure value, the first Mega Man Legacy Collection offers the best deal, with six classic games included.

This comes out to just over £1 per game, and most of the other Legacy Collections offer similar value, often coming out to just £1 or £2 per game.

The Mega Man Nintendo Switch eShop sale will last from now until the end of next week, on August 25, 2024.
